Programm
Day 1 – Arrival day
The first day is the introduction day where we want to get to know you and you to know us, your bike and all the details of the trip ahead. You get a chance to try out your bike and, depending on the arrival time have a short ride on the Bled lake as well as a visit to the famous Bled castle. The tranquil surroundings will give you a chance to have a good rest after your trip before setting of on this cycling adventure.
Day 2 – Active day in Slovenia
The lakes of Bled and Bohinj located in the Julian Alps are real gems of this part of Europe and the nature surrounding is simply magnificent. We take you on a bike ride that takes you from lake Bled to lake Bohinj which is a 30km ride through the georgeus countryside. We stop for rests along the way in order for you to take in all the beauty and enjoy breathing the perfectly clean air. Before heading back to Bled (partialy on different route) we introduce you to the local cuisine that will give you the energy to cycle back.
Day 3 - Introduction to Istria
Day three starts with leaving Slovenia, cross trough the medieval port of Koper (known for its Venetian architecture), and then enter Istria. Start in the tourist settlement Kanegra and follow the old railway line of Parenzana. As you will see in the days ahead, central Istria is full of natural life and colours.
Day 4 - Oprtalj and the authentic flavours of rural istria
Day four is for sure one of the most interesting days of the tour as it takes you through the pictoresque villages of Istria and you get a chance to taste many real Istrian specialities in a completely authentic atmosphere. What to visit Today’s route passes through romantic villages of upper Buje region and takes you to Oprtalj, a picturesque town that used to be an important medieval centre of this part of Istria. Nowadays Oprtalj is a small town situated on a hill with a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys including the valley of the river Mirna which is an important habitat of the appreciated white truffle. The route takes you back to Buje along secondary roads that wind between woods and hills.
Day 5 - Day of rest
The fifth day is reserved for a rest from your bikes and we stay in the town of Poreč in order for you to relax and get to know the sites like the Euphrasian Basilica which is part of the Unesco world heritage. A guided tour is organised in the morning and in the afternoon is left for you to spend time at will. Your guide will give you all the tips if you want to be active and also, depending on the time of year, all the best places for relaxing.
Day 6 – A day in central Istria
For day six we take you on a trip to the village of Fabci, the village best known for traditional Istrian ox called Boškarin. Boškarin is the name of the Istrian ox that was used as a working animal until approximately sixty years ago. Over the last fifteen years, the boškarin has been saved from extinction thanks to the efforts of the local authorities and an initiative of the local people.
Day 7 - Adriatic day
On day seven, we take you for a panoramic boat ride together with a fish picnic which gives you a chance to experience the Adriatic sea, the beautifull panorama of the town of Poreč from the sea and taste fresh Adriatic fish grilled just for you.
Day 8 - Departure day
On day 8 the tour is completed and after breakfast you have a transfer scheduled to take you back to the airport.
